Insulation Services

In Woodstock and to the West

Barns for livestock or workshop purposes would benefit from insulation, especially in locales where winters are frigid and summers are a hot mess. In addition to ensuring a more pleasurable environment for livestock and human workers alike, insulation will also cut energy expenditures while improving the health of farm animals and the quality of food produced. Here at Insta-Insulation, we often recommend insulating the floor with polyurethane foam panels, installed under concrete flooring, as well as blowing cellulose into the barn attic. After all, heat does move from hot to cold. By ensuring barns are insulated from top to bottom, the potential for heat loss is low. In the Woodstock West region, Insta-Insulation offers a range of insulation services for a variety of structures, including blown-in cellulose for barns. In addition to outdoor building insulation using blown-in cellulose, we also offer insulation services for suburban homes and condos.

Insulation Services

Insta-Insulation has more than 25 years of experience in the insulation industry, where we have installed, upgraded, and extracted many insulation systems in old and new homes. In relation to insulation installs and upgrades, Insta-Insulation provides cellulose and spray foam services. In addition to this, we have the expertise and equipment necessary to safely remove and extract insulation.

Insta-Insulation is Bryan Baeumler’s official insulation contractor, and we have worked with Mike Holmes for over 10 years.

Home Attic Insulation and Attic Upgrades

There are many insulation systems from which to choose for home attics. The choice often comes down to traditional application methods versus modern application methods. For many cases, the traditional application system is suitable, and this typically involves adding more ventilation and blowing more cellulose into the structure. At Insta-Insulation, we approach the traditional method in older homes by thoroughly extracting all old insulation before tightening the attic deck. Following this, new soffit vents are installed. A layer of spray foam is then added into the structure, followed by a top layer of cellulose fiber to bring the insulation up to building code or greater. A new approach to attic sealing and insulation is the 2-in-1 hot roof system, wherein two pounds of medium density foam is sprayed onto the entire underside of the attic roof. The insulation experts at Insta-Insulation will know which system will work best for your home needs.

Upgrading attic insulation properly will require an insulator to address many variables before beginning the actual installation. At Insta-Insulation, our trained consultants know exactly what components inside your home will have an impact on the overall efficacy of the upgrade; for instance, if there are any wiring issues or current roof leaks, it is critical to remedy these deficiencies before upgrading insulation. In addition to these areas, proper ventilation is necessary to reduce the potential for future mold growth; for example, we will often decline to perform attic upgrades in attics with low slopes unless our consultants feel 100% certain sufficient ventilation can be installed. Without enough ventilation, the potential for mold growth sky rockets. There are other variables which must be considered, and the experts at Insta-Insulation will ensure each one is addressed before and during your attic upgrade.

Blown Attic Insulation

Climatizer Plus is the blown cellulose insulation system we use for attics. Treated with fire retardant to control fire and prevent mold growth, this 85% recycled cellulose system is cost effective and is excellent for application on irregular surfaces. This system also works wonders at reducing sound transmission, and even considerable fluctuations in temperature will not alter cellulose performance.

Spray Foam Insulation

Is your home drafty? Have you noticed insects and vermin inside your home? Are your energy bills higher than normal? All these issues could be remedied if you were to choose spray foam insulation. It is a high-performance insulation system, and filling hard-to-reach nooks and crannies is a breeze. Spray foam is more than an insulation system. It is also an efficient sealant for attics, walls, and basements, which means your heating and cooling apparatuses will no longer have to work on overdrive to regulate indoor temperature. Although the upfront cost of spray foam usually costs more than fiberglass or cellulose, the return on investment may be worth it after you calculate how much money you will recoup in energy savings. Usually, spray foam insulation will pay for itself within three years. Moreover, the system we use already meets new environmental codes instituted by the government that come into full effect by 2020. At Insta-Insulation, we strive to remain ahead of the game.

Insulation Removal

Quite a few attics are often ignored by home owners. Unless you have a reason to check that space, it is easy to forget about your attic and the insulation installed there; however, there are instances in which insulation removal is necessary. Mold growth, animal infestation, and smoke and water damage are a few reasons which would require the present insulation to be extracted from the attic structure. In all these cases, it is best to hire highly trained insulation consultants who have the expertise to safely remove the affected insulation. After all, mold and animal feces can all pose a serious health risk to the people who live inside the home. At Insta-Insulation, we have the knowledge and systems necessary to safely remove attic insulation. In situations with mold and asbestos, we will work with Canada’s Restoration Services to further secure your safety during insulation removal. Please note, we will only remove vermiculite insulation if the asbestos level is equal to or lower than .5%.

Mold Removal

The moment you have noticed mold growing in your home, immediate attention is required to prevent further contamination. If this situation is not addressed promptly, mold will grow exponentially within two to three days. During the mold removal process, we will work with a mold remediation company. In most mold removal cases, the entire process will take three to four days. In addition to extracting all contaminated materials and replacing it with new, safe insulation, the necessary steps will be taken to prevent the problem from recurring.

Under Slab Insulation for Concrete Floors (Insta-Panels)

Regardless of the season, Insta-Panels are a sensible one-stop solution to improve the efficiency of your home. Our Insta-Panels are R-11 rigid polyurethane foam sandwiched between steel or fiberglass panels, and they are approved for under slab installation. The high durability of Insta-Panels is something to write home about; compared to competing products made of either expanded polystyrene or extruded foam boards, our panels are more durable and have a higher R-value. For many years to come, you will be able to enjoy moisture-free floors and a comfortable home without gouging your wallet. If you do decide to move to a new home, you will notice the insulated panels have helped to increase your home resale value.

Insulated Sheds

Don’t allow precipitation and condensation to turn your farming equipment and outdoor seasonal toys into useless rust buckets. During off season, protect your investments by storing them in a safe, dependable insulated shed. At Insta-Sheds, we construct fully insulated sheds that keep unwanted moisture and wildlife out. Because our sheds are made of double steel construction, you can rest assured that rain and rats will not destroy your stored equipment.
