Insulation Services

In the GTA and Toronto

Character homes are beautiful and have personality in spades, but there is a downside to these properties. Often, the more character a home has, the more money the home owner will have to pay towards their energy bills. This often happens because insulation in these homes is not sufficient, leading to air leakage and heat loss; however, insulating character homes can be expensive and time consuming. Walls might have to be ripped out, asbestos might need to be removed, or you might need to construct additional space in which to fit the insulation. All this being said, newer homes and condos are not immune to energy loss. In Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, newer homes as well as condos may also have this issue. Even an installation of pot lights can lead to air leakage between the light and the fixture, which could be a reason why your energy bills are high. If you live in Toronto or the GTA, take advantage of our free insulation consultation to see how we can improve your home insulation. Insulation Services

Are you looking to sound proof your home or condo? Do you want to upgrade your insulation to a higher R-value? Did you find a raccoon inside your upstairs crawlspace, or see any of its droppings? These are all solid reasons to have your insulation inspected and replaced. For over 25 years, Insta-Insulation has done and continues to do exactly that. We install, upgrade, and remove insulation to ensure your home is safe and as energy efficient as possible.

Home Attic Insulation and Attic Upgrades

Have you considered giving up your Starbucks addiction to help pay your high energy bills, but you don’t know how else to stay warm in your drafty home? Instead of going cold turkey, there is a better option that will help you save money on your energy bills. Insta-Insulation can help you seal and insulate your attic to keep your rooms consistently warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Increasing the level of insulation in your attic is not as easy as it sounds. Simply blowing more insulation into the attic is not the best way to go about improving moisture or heat issues in your home. If all you did was add insulation into the attic without thoroughly inspecting ventilation and other components, like exhaust fans and the condition of your attic hatch, mold may develop as a result. Here at Insta-Insulation, we know all the variables that come into play in attic insulation efficacy.

Blown Attic Insulation

Climatizer Plus is the blown cellulose insulation system we trust the most for attics. Specially treated with flame retardant, this system controls fire and reduces mold formation. It provides exceptional coverage and performance because the individual wood fibers have been separated. If you are interested in seeing a 20-30% reduction in your energy bills, Climatizer Plus may be the appropriate attic insulation system for you.

Spray Foam Insulation

By 2020, all spray foam insulation systems in Ontario are required by law to meet strict environment regulations. At Insta-Insulation, we are ahead of the game. For us, the purple spray foam you might be used to seeing is already a thing of the past and has been replaced with Insulthane® Extreme, which meets 2020 regulations. This two-pound medium density closed cell spray foam is a superior option to seal and insulate many spaces in your home, including walls, attics, garages, and ceilings. Unlike more traditional insulation options, spray foam spreads to all the hidden areas through which air and heat love to seep. Additionally, closed cell spray foam does not absorb water, which means the potentiality for mold growth is low. Although the initial, upfront cost of spray foam is greater than fiberglass or other traditional insulation methods, you will notice a significant decrease in your energy bill expenditures and a raise in your home resale value.

Insulation Removal

Are you renovating your home’s structure and making upgrades to electrical wires? Has a raccoon family turned your attic into their new living space? Is your attic insulation made of vermiculite? Has a flood or water leak damaged your insulation? Can you smell smoke in your attic insulation? Can you see mold in your attic? The aforementioned scenarios are the most common reasons why home owners may need to remove their insulation. Generally, we can have your insulation removed by the end of one day. Please be aware, we will only remove vermiculite insulation if the asbestos level is under .5%. For over six years, Bryan Baeumler has used our attic insulation removal services on his shows, DIY DisasterHouse of Bryan, and Leave It to Bryan.

Mold Removal

We are strong advocates of spray foam and insulation best practices because preventing mold from even forming is easier than removing mold after its spread throughout the attic and house. Mold doesn’t need very much time to spread either; it can spread within two to three days if it isn’t treated immediately. What makes mold matters worse, especially in the attic, is that approximately 95% of homeowners are not even aware that there is an issue upstairs. It is easy to be unaware of this illness-causing problem if you don’t inspect your attic regularly. Once a mold problem does arise, don’t hesitate to call us. Insta-Insulation works with a mold remediation company to help you take care of it. For us, the mold removal process takes three to four days to complete. After the mold has been removed, we will help you with mold preventative measures so the problem doesn’t happen again.

Under Slab Insulation for Concrete Floors (Insta-Panels)

If your basement floor is not insulated, but the rest of your home is insulated with materials with high R-values, heat will escape your house by going straight downstairs. Heat moves from hot to cold, and non-insulated concrete floors in basements are not known for being comfortably warm to unprotected feet. Adding insulation to the underside of the concrete flooring can significantly reduce heat loss. Our approved insulated floor panel system, known as Insta-Panels, will do exactly that and more. Our panels resist moisture, which means your living space will stay dry and mold free. With our Insta-Panel system, you will notice a dramatic improvement in heat control, and you will enjoy seeing a much lower number on your energy bills.

Insulated Sheds

Insta-Sheds are constructed to keep moisture out and your belongings safe and dry, which means protecting your cottage and beach toys has gotten easier. The vinyl siding system on all our sheds is durable and low maintenance, which means the harsh elements won’t destroy it and cleaning is a breeze. In addition to this, our vinyl system is available in a wide variety of colours, which means your shed could potentially match the colour of your house.
